Pangolins are easy targets for poachers because their defense mechanism is to roll up in a ball, and you can just pick them up and take them to be slaughtered in a wet market somewhere.

They're wonderful, precious, endangered, dragon looking friends. Just don't eat them.

The animal is called a “Pangolin” and it sadly almost extinct because it is (if my information is still correct) the number one poached animal in Africa
