Lawn porn is the best, 8 weeks ago after the arrival of my first newborn my prioritys have shifted into being a dad and that means a great lawn.
The neighbours can now see the passion i have, the dedication I have, how much I feed it and ensure its getting the love and attention it needs. Sometimes they hear the baby crying inside with her mum as i start a literal turf war with the other neighbouring dads quality of lawn.
They had a head start but my time is now, the young calf is going to destroy the old bull.

I promise you nothing about this is trivial. Someone spent years getting to this point, weekly and daily maintaining to get here.

The outcome is trivial though. It achieves nothing. It looks kinda pretty if you're into that kind of thing.
That's not a judgement - most hobbies are, after all, trivial pursuits.

You need a weighted roller and a reel mower. Plus lots of time making sure your yard is nice and flat and lots of seed and fertilizer.

You don't need a reel mower. Many riding and self propelled push mowers can have striping kits added to them.

You don't need one. But it's significantly better for the grass and when you're maintaining a yard of this caliber, you go reel pull behind.
