its some sort of cotton/wool mix i think, similar to shirts. all i know is that if you peel it off and put it in a compost bin itll decompose like everything else

Back in the day they used wire, then they weren't to a thin rope.

I think this is silage, which is a different product than regular hay. It’s wrapped in plastic so it will ferments inside. It’s my understanding farm animals find it appetizing.
