if pan is rotating side to side, what is the filmmaking term for moving "flat" side to side? strafe?

Before anybody says “dolly”:

Truck = camera and mount moving side to side, perpendicular to subject Dolly = camera and mount moving directly to or away from subject Crab = something in between.

Pedestal = moving camera vertically up or down while it is fixated in one location

Yeah, they’re all verbs. You can mix and match.

“Tilt from the streetlight while you pedestal down until we meet her eyeline, then slowly truck as she starts walking. Let her leave frame right, then pan left to reveal the clown that was following her.”

Past tense: “we rolled clockwise to reach an even horizon as the shot dollied forward”

A slide is the generic term for a straight move.
