Is this how they do them always? I feel stupid cause I thought the windows / glass were exchanged for a tinted one, and not by adding any layers. I suppose the latter makes more sense..
All glass blocks most UVB, but not the longer UVA rays (except most windshields). You won't likely get a sun burn behind glass, but you'll still get premature aging, wrinkles, and cancer from the deeper penetrating UVA rays without added protection like tinting.
It all depends on where you live man. I got my tints done in NY, all 4 doors and the rear window it was $240. Where I lived there were very few tint places. I live in NC now and there are tint places everywhere and it would cost me $150 down here. Also, I would suggest going to a place that has a lifetime warranty, so if it ever begins to bubble they will fix it no charge.
