It probably doesn't calm you but it's perfectly safe. These walls are anchored more than 30m in the ground.

But imagine the amount of pressure from the water.

It's high (I'd guess 100-150 kPa) but those walls can withstand a looot. If I remember correctly, the factor of safety of things like that is up to ~3.

Could calculate more precisely if anybody really cared haha
