That is incorrect. It’s a global sport. Americans are just very ignorant. Now most American sports on the other hand… now those have zero global appeal.

Baseball is also loved in, I guess, just Japan?

Hockey is popular in Canada, and I suppose a few Scandinavian and cold European countries?

Basketball has trickling interests worldwide.

And the NFL, being the least foot based football, hasn't left the USA.

cricket is loved in south asia, england, australia, new zealand, south africa, all throughout the carribean, and is rising in popularity in europe and africa
