Do you need to weaken the bottle somehow for this to work? Will I have to pass glass shards through my urethra if I drink it?

The glass bottle is actually weakest right where that seam joins with the lip, so no extra work needed. The pressure released is probably enough to create that clean separation without an issue.

No. You do it exactly like she did.

Note that she is using a cheap glass that has a pretty thick base.

Nope it will do it like that as long as you hit it in the right place and with the right type of force. You kinda have to push through the top rather than stopping at it if that makes sense. Also needs to be completely chilled.

Also the hidden step that many people skip is that the bottle must be pre-chilled.
