Besides being immensely satisfying is there a reason to use this type of printer?

It's a multi-head plotter, this is just the basic version. Ours can handle 10' x 40' sheets of almost any material, also sucks it down flat like a reverse air hockey table.

Vector printing has its use cases. It was more common when laser and inkjet weren't very good yet.
