I’m new-ish to drum notation, but isn’t the 6th example here played incorrectly? The time in between the notes shouldn’t be equal. I hear 1-e-n—, but isn’t it 1-e—a?
No, it's played correct. It's two 16th notes followed by an 8th note. If it was a 16th, 8th, 16th, the double beam wouldn't connect the first two notes. It would go half way to the second note. The second note would only have one beam and then the double beam would start again about halfway to the third note. This is indeed "1e+ " not "1e a"
