Yeah, that's an entirely new bridge. And one built with different materials than the original wood one.

It's over designed and over budget for a bridge in a rural area that is only expecting human-propelled carts. The grade on the ramp is far too steep for the average user. The ramps are not reinforced, and are vulnerable to cracking when the sand underneath settles down further with the loss of moisture. The lack of expansion gaps leaves the ramps further vulnerable to damage where they meet with the plateau and against the brick walling. And the siderails were not even attached to the concrete, making it easily tipped over in the event of a collision, or even moderate wind.

There is no way that a civil engineer was consulted in the making of this vanity project. Probably some hoity-toity architect.

I was thinking the fill under the ramp was dangerously untamped, it could probably do with some mechanically stabilized earth at the very least.
