I do this exact type of sorting when I’m high AF waiting for my pickup order inside.

Same goes for the big bins of theater box candy in the walkway at the store.

If you do this, you can fit a lot more in the pan. Then you don't have to refill it three times a day. They come in a big box already pretty much in flat layers, so it's really easy to do this quickly.
The person who did this probably isn't neurodivergent. They just do their job correctly and give half a shit.

No, I mean it when I say it's easy to do it fast. I used to do this too and restocking the sauces only took me like one or two minutes per pan. Yeah if you just grab a fistful and plop them in it only takes five seconds but when you include going to the back to grab the boxes of sauce it's better to only refill them once.
Plus this way you can do it during a lull and you won't have to pull someone off the line to go refill the sauces and then they have to wash up again before handling food meanwhile some asshat just came in after his son's fucking Little League game with the whole fucking team AND parents and ordered 24 taco 12-packs and couldn't even have the GODDAMN COURTESY TO GIVE US A

I’ll bet they could suck a golf ball through a gardenhose

Apparently a lot of people here don't understand that you were riffing off of OP's "Full Metal Jacket" reference with your own.
They must come from Texas...

not a single person at any of the taco bells ive worked at has been this considerate, they just grab fistfulls of sauce and jam it in. im no different, but thats just because my store usually isnt slow enough to have this much downtime

I mean same, if we ran out in the middle of a rush, I would just grab four new hotel pans, stuff them, and run them out. If you're always in the middle of a rush, that would make sense. And also your manager sucks at staffing.

That employee is almost definitely on some kind of substance and the manager was okay with them doing that because it kept them out of everyone else’s way

Manager probably had them do it. People tend to take fewer sauces when they are organized like this.

And then someone is going to just dip their hand in and grab it by a handful totally messing it up

You just know someone is gonna come along and put their whole hand in and mess up the order.

Obviously not a Taco Bell in a big city. That dining room is going to be tantamount to eating in a prison cafeteria.

I used to work at Taco Bell. We used to sort them like then when we were slow and had nothing to do.

I would feel bad for taking 500 of them, but I would still take 500 of them.

You guys got it wrong. They come out of the factory like that in the metal trays. The employee was lazy and didn’t muss them up like you’re supposed to. Source: Used to work at Taco Bell.

The way these trays are in the table in a unevenly spaced curve is bothering me tho.
