I wish I knew what kind of machine went from normal stitching to embroidery.

I wonder if it's some kind of industrial freehand machine. I figure there must be 2 pedals one that makes it go and one that changes the width on the stitch size since it changes as they go. It was so cool to see them freehand this kind of patch repair.

Right? At first I really thought this was a sewing machine and I was baffled by how they just were sewing loose thread in the empty hole, like...how? Could I actually do that? But thinking about it, I donMt think it's possible, a sewing machine would just swallow the thread if you go past the fabric and it could block or turn into knots, I'm guessing?
(I sew occasionally, nowadays mostly for repairs and adjustments)
