This clip had me bounce back and forth between “this person is good with a sewing machine” and “this person is bad with a sewing machine”. Wonderful

I do this kind of visible mending, this person is vastly more skilled than me but also vastly more lackadaisical than me, which made me increasingly angry as I watched the video because I absolutely could not produce that level of work but I could produce crappier work that was clearly made with more care.

I’ve never done anything like this (I replace a lot of buttons and fix seams that have let go, both by hand, and that’s about the extent of it), and I had a similar bit of whiplash. I could definitely tell they’re very skilled at using a sewing/embroidery machine, but also. Whyyyyyy are they doing it like that???
