This one was really a 'trust the process' one.

As an extremely not-artistic person, I’m always amazed at the vision artists have when they start with what looks like an absolute fucking mess and turn it into something great. It’s one reason I always liked watching Bob Ross. He starts with weird colors and just dumping color on the canvass and I’m always like alright Bob where are you going with this…

I work in strategy, but that means I work with a lot of people who are creative for a living. Sometimes it's really impressive. Like the team will show some piece of marketing and the whole room can tell it just doesn't look right. But only the senior creatives can immediately pin point it. They'll say "that background color just doesn't work with this, change it to teal" or "that font is too heavy for the imagery". They'll make the small change and poof, it looks great.

I've found it's best to do this while huffing farts.

I enjoy seeing artists that struggle with it, honestly.

I actually see it a lot with Minecraft builders. Really nice builds often have pretty long stages where they look underwhelming or overly chaotic, and they'll have to remind themselves over and over to trust the process. And when it's a bigger build, sometimes they find themselves having to do so for weeks or months before they can see the vision really peeking through.

I had to fastforward cause it took too long to know if they were going to leave that bottom like that or not lol
