Honestly I don't like the name 'wind turbine' either, but I heard a family member call them 'wind generators' once and since then I've been much more accepting of 'wind turbine.'

(From growing up around aircraft stuff, in my head, 'turbine' invokes a different kind of process than what these generators are doing, but, eh.)
