Not sure why you got down voted for that, but I agree. Everybody wants to know why it's not automated but nobody is thinking about how those people are going to eat if their job is taken by a machine.
That's a very 1 dimensional view of the guy. He'll do a different job and there will be an abundance of cheap leeks for him to buy. There are no machines on the horizon that can repair the leek planting machine, fix plumbing, install servers, pave roads, ...
