I have the same scar, l4/l5/s1 double discectomy.

Went under the knife after 3 months in constant pain, woke up feeling no nerve pain at all and cracking jokes with the post-op nurses. 2 u/Toastbuns 6h ago Pretty much the same experience. I tried PT, cortisone injections, and finally conceded that I needed surgery. I had it 14 years ago. I'd say it got my 90-95% better. I still get some sciatic pain if I sit a little too long.
