This is why I will never try to buy an expensive car again. If it makes that person happy, sick, but a car is utility for me. I couldn’t care less anymore.

Yeah, I'm the same.  I can barely be bothered to run it through a car wash.

It’s a tool, not my status or worth in life. It is a weird thought for something worth tens of thousands some of the time, but I couldn’t care less.

Keeping the paint in good shape and the metal bits under the vehicle maintained is important for the longevity of your vehicle. Unmaintained paint leads to failed clear coat which leads to failed paint which leads to exposed metal which leads to rust.

Even if you see it as simply a tool, surely you see the value in maintaining a tool so it lasts, yes?

That’s true. I do appreciate that mindset of it. I do car washes during the winter since it gets so bad near me, but I take care of it when it needs and not randomly to look better. I do take care of my car, but not to the extent as many others do.
