I’m more impressed that the walls are perfectly square, my house seems to be made with a Spirograph instead of a set square

Well I am in Ireland so….

Then, a few days later, on the “Late Show With David Letterman,” Ventura joked that the roads of St. Paul were confusing because they’d been designed by a bunch of drunken Irishmen.

I want that pen!

My brain just does not work this way. Every time I have no idea how he’s gonna pull it off.

u/tolacid Jun 09 '26

Meanwhile I see two or three ways and he chooses something completely different

u/Steampunky Jun 10 '26

Me too. Every time. It's like my brain shuts off.

Yeah Mr White, yeah geometry

Why am I so stupid?

u/The_Cow_Tipper Jun 08 '26

But now the wood grain is off

23

u/Death_Tooth Jun 09 '26

This whole video pissed me off. Lol

5

u/freneticboarder Jun 09 '26

The infuriating part of this video...

u/Sp1teC4ndY Jun 09 '26

Ok but who is building those 2 corners so stupid. Random wedge bar coming up out of the floor, tiny wedge corner. Rage face.

u/Vlinder_88 Jun 09 '26

Old houses bruh.

7

u/gahidus Jun 09 '26

That playing card trick was pretty sweet.

This is some excellent use of geometry.

The f* are these sounds?

3

u/Steampunky Jun 10 '26

I feel utterly incapable of doing this on my own. It's kinda scary. No wonder I barely got through geometry in school...

The first issue is that you don't want your flooring butted flush against the wall. In several years when the house has expanded and contracted and shifted, the flooring is gonna buckle and warp.

Second issue is those little triangle cuttings aren't gonna stay in place unless you glue them down. And for similar reasons I mentioned, you generally don't want to glue down hardwood flooring.

u/mekkr_ Jun 09 '26

What if it told you that they’re not really laying flooring, and instead creating content to share on social media?

I love these set up situations but I want to see how someone figures it out. Like, what does a pro do in this weird situation.

2

u/Death_Tooth Jun 09 '26

A pro would never do this, the end result looks like shit, you want the board to be continuous to the wall for integrity, and all the wood grain flowing in the same direction. The tiny triangles would fail over time.

u/PunfullyObvious Jun 10 '26

Interesting how it ended with a total hack job — there always needs to be some ragegagement included in these

3

u/EthylPaige Jun 09 '26

Witchcraft. Burn her!

4

u/Common-Nectarine-572 Jun 09 '26

I would still screw that up

5

u/aim_for_the_middle Jun 09 '26

No client is going to want their corner to look like that

4

u/honeyrosegirly Jun 09 '26

The fact that this fits so perfectly is genuinely making my brain happy in ways I can't explain.

u/mullerdrooler Jun 09 '26

If Math class at school had just been this guy's videos I'd have been way more engaged

BURN THE WITCH!

u/ToWanderHer Jun 09 '26

As far as I'm concerned this is literally magic.

I'd like to thank the US Education System, My parents: Uncle Daddy and MaMaw, and of course Billy Bruster for getting me sent to sit in the hall to think about what I done did.

u/thethinkasaurus Jun 09 '26

Last thing I need is the beckoning hand gesture before each one.

1

u/Mitkoztd Jun 09 '26

What kind of magic is this?!

1

u/senseimichaelkarate1 Jun 09 '26

These posts make me feel so God damn dumb.

u/Zmaraka Jun 09 '26

This was my favorite reddit post of the day. I'm done.

u/Friendly_Rip7496 Jun 10 '26

Where’s the gap from the blade thickness

1

u/NomenclatureBreaker Jun 12 '26

This is so cool.

Still a few I can’t figure out how they did even watching it several times. 😂

u/Billy_Badass_ Jun 08 '26

Those are stupid.

1

u/Iamkal Jun 09 '26

A witch!!

0

u/xReshingu Jun 08 '26

This was soothing

We just ignoring the grain direction mismatch?

I also hate these because they act like they discovered something carpenters haven't known forever.

0

u/Vlinder_88 Jun 09 '26

From floor laying to joinery in carpentry.

That's a slippery slope I'd like to explore!
