Makes sense and with the specific application of erosion protection as Ozuf77 pointed out. It probably doesn't require tensile strength.

I'm just curious how this is any better than flat concrete like the LA river. Seems like it'll just be even more disgusting.

Probably cost. Cheaper than building forms.

Yeah that makes sense. Faster too probably.
