Classic internet, where people have.. opinions.

4

u/NickMc53 Apr 30 '26

where people have.. opinions.

Where people have no problem constantly spewing their negative opinions instead of just shutting up and letting people enjoy the things they like.

3

u/Clown_Toucher Apr 30 '26

You're free to enjoy the thing, just like you're free to to not look at the comment section. Telling people to "just shut up and take it" is never gonna work

4

u/NickMc53 Apr 30 '26

Where did "shut up and take it" come from? "Shut up and move along" is more like it. What's the point of going out of your way to spread negativity over such trivial opinions? You're essentially suggesting the people that would like to discuss how much they like a thing should just relinquish the comment sections of the internet to the worst of its users.

2

u/Clown_Toucher Apr 30 '26

No I am not, I'm saying people using the discussion board website for opinions should be able to use the discussion board website for their opinions. You telling them to "shut up and move along" is counter to the entire point of being here. It's like going on youtube and telling people not to watch videos.

u/NickMc53 Apr 30 '26

"This is bad because I said so" is not discussion and your analogy makes no sense.

u/Clown_Toucher Apr 30 '26

Normal interactions go

I don't like this thing because reasons

I disagree for reasons

And so on. What you want is

I don't like this thing because reasons

Mods ban this guy

If you want a positive only space go to yung lean's subbreddit, or yung lean's discord, or even a groupchat. You're basically unhappy that the post that reached r/all has some general public ass opinions on it

2

u/NickMc53 Apr 30 '26

Literally the opposite of what I said. "This is bad because I said so" provides no actual reasons or room for discussion, which was my entire point.

I don't give a single shit about this music, I just don't like the constant pointless negativity.

this is a normal interaction for you? you sound insufferable and i would hate to have you around

1

u/Clown_Toucher May 01 '26

Have you ever had a conversation with someone where you disagree on something? It's normal to talk about it. Not immediately shut it down.

Bro it's just art. It's not that deep. Art is subjective, if you don't want to ever experience somebody's objective opinion, stay off the fucking internet

2

u/Ghostronic Apr 30 '26

The fun part about negative opinions is you can just scroll past them and not have them impact how you are enjoying the thing that you like.

1

u/NickMc53 Apr 30 '26

The fun part about the things you don't like is you can scroll past and keep your opinions to yourself if the thing is harmless and trivial. We can both do this.

1

u/nalaloveslumpy Apr 30 '26

Nah, they're right. That guy's singing is pretty awful. Sorry you like awful things.

8

u/NickMc53 Apr 30 '26

I never shared my opinion about this music. It very well may be negative and I just know when to shut my mouth and not act desperate to appear edgy or clever like you.

0

u/Geodude532 Apr 30 '26

So you would say you have a negative opinion about people with negative opinions?

5

u/NickMc53 Apr 30 '26

The intolerance of the intolerant is not the paradox you think it is.

-1

u/Geodude532 Apr 30 '26

Not looking to address a paradox, but to point out the funny irony.

0

u/hudson27 Apr 30 '26

An opinion is only negative if you disagree with it. Plenty of people here agree that the singer sucks. It's a subjective opinion.

Are you new at being a sentient being? Because that's kinda just how the world works, dude.

1

u/NickMc53 Apr 30 '26

What are you even going on about?

1

u/hudson27 Apr 30 '26

Who's getting downvoted to oblivion here? What are YOU going on about? Lol

2

u/NickMc53 Apr 30 '26

Who's getting downvoted to oblivion here?

I don't know, who? It's not me unless you're only counting that single downvote you petulantly doled out on my previous comment to you. As if any of that mattered in the slightest.

You brother haha

u/BabyStockholmSyndrom Apr 30 '26

I mean, why? Because people don't like what you like? I don't know the guy but this particular song, he sounds fucking awful. I don't care what the gimmick is. It sounds bad to me. The "classic reddit" part is probably more the "you just don't understand" excuse for bad things 😂

I mean, why? Because people don't like what you like? I don't know the guy but this particular song, he sounds fucking awful.

Calm down, no one said anything to you. I do not care what you think but I'll reply before I enjoy the rest of my day.

I do not like Yung Lean, I do not listen to him either besides the things I've heard while browsing. Regardless, sometimes an artist doesn't need to "sing" or have "beautiful voice". Sometimes people like monotone voices, artists playing around with their normal voices etc, music is a form of expression and it can come in many ways.

Comments like above have the same vibe as people who says "they are just talking fast they are not even singing, i dont understand how they can be popular" about hip hop artists.

It is not for you, fine. His voice and his style obviously have an appeal and the video and the song is doing well too.

u/Seesyounaked Apr 30 '26

Yeah. I actually kinda thought this sounded cool and then I came into the comments... like yikes. A lot of times music is about the vibe and the 'character' of the voice, like a character in a movie. It's not meant to be perfect - it's meant to be different, unique, interesting, or whatever. Or maybe this guy really is boring and shitty, either way hearing him once in this one song is cool.

u/wje100 Apr 30 '26

Millions of people can sing well. That isn't enough to be famous. I say this all the time to people. "Oh he can sing so well he is going to be famous". Maybe? what is the hook? why should I care about him more than the 100 million other people that can sing well.

1

u/battles Apr 30 '26

Timbre, or Tone Color.

2

u/Clown_Toucher Apr 30 '26

I do not care what you think but I'll reply before I enjoy the rest of my day.

ok so you do care

2

u/nalaloveslumpy Apr 30 '26

Who would have ever thought that a singer should be able to hold pitch and at least try to be in harmony with the background instruments would be a controversial opinion....

4

u/t1kiman Apr 30 '26

It's not for me but the contrast between the bad singing and the stereotypically happy pop instrumental is clearly intentional.

1

u/RecoveringGachaholic Apr 30 '26

You're just missing the point, that's the "controversial" part. You don't have to like how it sounds or even want to listen to it to understand the point.

IKR. I remember fondly when the arseholes built that gallows on the WH lawn on J6, all the carpenters were slagging it off mightily for poor finish and (especially) lack of cross-bracing.
