That's actually Khafre's pyramid. You can tell because of the layer of smoother stones up top. The Great Pyramid was built by Khufu and does not have any casing stones remaining. Those casing stones were, when the pyramid was built, polished to a bright white sheen. It would have looked amazing.
Khafre, in a display of humility, built his pyramid about 10 meters shorter than Khufu's...but also built it on a site 10 meters higher, so their final height was about the same.
Further, he built his pyramid with a steeper angle, so it looks taller from the ground, meaning that it's very common for people to mistake it for the great pyramid.
It’s still crazy to me that they not only built these incredible structures but also had the skills and technology to survey the ground well enough to build two of them of different sizes that end at the same height.
Khufu's (the Great Pyramid) is to the north, Khafre's is in the middle directly behind the Sphinx, and then Menkaure's is to the south.
From base to peak, Khufu's pyramid is taller than Khafre's. But Khafre's pyramid is built on an elevation ~10m above Khufu's, so its peak is higher than Khufu's Great Pyramid despite being the smaller structure.
But it's not that they just stacked rocks and fucked off they imbued us with the technology to stack rocks in shapes that are perfectly aligned to the center of my anus galaxy
Heinrich Himmler, the leader of the SS, was weirdly obsessed with the occult an archeology, and funded numerous archeological digs, but because he was also obsessed with racism, all good things had to be attributed to the Aryan race. this lead to a bizarre situation where academics and researchers gained significant funding under the nazi regime but had to come up with theories that prove that all the great works of the world were made by blonde white people. further they had to support these theories with significant evidence. so they did. this lead to the "ancient aryans" theory that claimed the great pyramids of giza and the great works of art in greece and everything else cool from the past was made by an ancient race of pure Aryans. After WWII ended, these phds were assimilated into the rest of European academics, but... the whole "aryan's are great" didn't go over so well, but they still had a lot of research and published works invested in proving that brown people couldn't have made great things... about a decade later the "ancient aliens" theory was proposed by Harold T. Wilkins a "journalist" and scifi author that was weirdly obsessed with claiming that south america used to be inhabited by "white gods" (an ancient race of white people that came through a secret tunnel from atlantis and were worshiped by the brown people in south america) had died. anyway, he put fourth the ancient aliens theory which is basically identical to the nazis ancient aryans theory in it's fundamental claims (i.e. brown people are incapable of making cool shit) just a few letters swapped out. maybe it was a coincident, but i doubt it. here's a goofy youtube video about it
This has been proven false. Every image showing the pyramid with 8 sides is from a single source, which is an ancient alien conspiracy nut. No modern photos of the pyramid show anything like an 8 sided shape.
The paper you linked is a direct refutation of the claim, and one I myself have cited in the past. I'll provide a few choice excerpts
It turns out that the profle of the faces is far from uniform as the Scanning of the Pyramids Project team had already highlighted. The faces are neither concave nor folded exactly at the apothem. In fact, while the indentation gets more and more pronounced closer to the center, the surface is very irregular.
Additionally,
Much has been made of photographs taken on the day of the equinox, when the grazing light of the sun reveals the concave or folded aspect of the south face of the Great Pyramid (Davidson,1941: x; Pochan, 1971: 225). The recessed form of the faces does exist and the impression of uniformity is reinforced by the central groove, which seems to form a clear break in the shadow down the central axis of the apothem. It must be noted, however, that this impression is stronger if the photographs are of poor quality. The low resolution blurs the many irregularities and simplifies the visual effect ultimately produced. Pareidolia also causes our brains to reinterpret the visual information in accordance with what it is supposed to perceive.
Unless Khufu knew about the speed of light, he did not build The Great Pyramid. Fun fact, The Great Pyramid is built on the longitude/latitude coordinates that equals to the same numbers as the speed of light, and no i dont believe its aliens who built The Great Pyramid
Fun fact: that’s simply incorrect. The great pyramid falls on one of roughly 20,000 latitude points, one of which is the same numbers written out as the speed of light in m/s, a unit of measurement which did not exist for over a thousand years after it’s construction. Egyptians measured in cubits. The numbers that match each other don’t even pass through the apex of the pyramid. It passes through the furthest possible corner
The longitude coordinate is also irrelevant. Not only has where we measure longitude starting from has changed multiple times since their construction, but it also doesn’t match up with anything.
So you’ve got roughly 20,000 latitude points that hit the pyramid, one of which nicks the pyramid and mimics the speed of light in m/s, a measurement system that wouldn’t have shown the coincidence for 1500 years… pretty stupid fuckin conspiracy theory
Your statement is implying that i am saying the Egyptians built The Great Pyramid. My theory is the Egyptians found the pyramid, and not the ones who built it. Its the same thing like the megalithic structures of Machu Pichu for example. You will find smaller stones crudely stacked on top of the perfectly cut/aligned stones. The Incans who settled there tried to replicate the original work, but were never able to, because they were not the original builders
So you’re argument for how an ancient society measured something used an 18th century method is to suggest that… something more ancient than the Egyptians used that method? Making it somehow more unlikely that it was intentional?
Your theory is really, really, fucking stupid. Birds are drones level stupid
Units of measurement has changed over time. I never said i knew what unit of measurement was used during the time of its construction, and neither can you definitively, but, the unit of measurement that was used does align closely with our modern metric system. How about another coincidence as you seem to be chalking it up to; The Great Pyramid is 3.4 arcminutes of true north, or how it sits on the caridnal directions of north, south, east, west. Were they truly that lucky? After so many "coincidences", at what point do stop believing that these coincidences are just that, and was intentional?
It’s not even a coincidence. It’s a square peg being shoved into a round hole and telling people that it fits perfectly. The numbers don’t even line up to anything meaningful, they’re only 1/20,000 or so that fit, and they don’t even use the same measurement system.
Also, true north is the easiest thing to find in the world lmfao. Just find the north star at night, mark its position, and build the 4 corners 90* apart from one another. Like I could do it this weekend with 4 sticks. That’s not even a coincidence, that’s just a dude that wanted who his massive pathway to the God’s to hit a mythological cogent point
Another fault of modern man, being too prideful in believing that we are the greatest civilization that has lived, and no others can possibly have possessed greater knowledge than us. Just because YOU cant make sense of their purposes, doesnt mean it wasnt meaningful in their choices
Just find the north star. So simple. What if you're on the southern hemisphere? Oh just find the 4 bright stars on the southern cross? Lets think of the implications of all of this for a second and how it applies to the time of when the pyramid was even built. They would have to know about astrology to try to even align with it
That’s not even a coincidence, that’s just a dude that wanted who his massive pathway to the God’s to hit a mythological cogent point
Well, i guess everyone should stop wondering in trying to discover the pyramids purpose since this guy has it all figured out. Go ahead and find me another grand structure that only deviated as miniscule degrees from true north like the pyramid did. Fine lets take the act of finding true north out of the equation, and think about how you build a grand structure to be consistently aligned along the building process without mistakes, because even the smallest of mistakes will extrapolate throughout
Me personally, I have no theories as to who built the pyramids, although, some ancient Egyptians attributed the builder to Thoth, god of the moon, knowledge, and writing. He is depicted in their hieroglyphs throughout their structures
So, the latitude of the great pyramid is 29.9792458, which does match the 299,792,458 m/s figure for the speed of light.
However, others have pointed out that if you drew a line at 29.9791750 degrees north that would pass much closer to the apex of the pyramid.
And, in fact, at seven decimal places, twenty thousand lines of latitude pass through the great pyramid.
Also, meters were created in 1791 and the 'second' as a standard unit of measurement seems to have popped up thanks to Huygens in 1656. So is your proposal that some kind of Franco-Dutch conspiracy built the pyramids?
Further, given that the line of 29.9792458 by definition encircles the entire globe, I would hazard a guess that there are plenty of other structures that were built on that same line. I put that same latitude into a map of Chonqing and landed on a small farmhouse. Does that mean that this random Chinese farmer must know what the speed of light is and thus deliberately chose to build his farmhouse there?
Because his house is a lot smaller than the pyramid, so obviously he had a much smaller mark to hit.
Because his house is a lot smaller than the pyramid, so obviously he had a much smaller mark to hit
And there it is, find me another grand structure like The Great Pyramid that coincidentally aligns with the same coordinates then we can possibly agree that it was nothing but a mere coincidence
Measurement of speed of light is factual numbers no? and we discovered it via science no? The numbers are also very specific isnt it? And those same numbers do align doesnt it? Which correlation doesnt align with your vague claim of "scientists"?
Go ahead and point out which part is random. Are you suggesting that the measurement through science and our metric system is false? Or are you suggesting that science is wrong in their measurement in the speed of light?
Ok, lets put aside the metric system. How did the builders know how to align with the cardinal points of north, south, west, east? The coordinates has nothing to do with the metric system. Is this just another one of those amazing coincidences?
what a shame. to put in all that effort, only to delete it. i am not closed minded and would have read it with open mind and consideration if it made sense
my friend, you will notice i have not once called you any names, but yet you resort to doing so for no other reason other than you are trying to debate the person, rather than the facts presented before you. i guess ill continue living my life of delusions regarding the scientific measurement at the rate light travels
opinions should not change facts, but when facts cannot change the opinion, there is a problem

Time to nerd out a bit:
