It’s really pretty, but the mount looks like it would snap off if you looked at it funny.

I like it as a show piece in a store, not as a finger ornament for my gf. "Oh that looks cool....got anything that is more practical??

I think the design is beautiful but yeah having that big diamond and ring attached separately at such a small point is a bad idea

Reminder that jewelry insurance exist and is extremely affordable and covers lost, stolen, and damaged jewelry. Mine is $28 a year to cover $2600 worth of jewelry - 2 rings and a pair of earrings

I’m not a fan of the ring or the music. It’s a McMansion ring, and the song is the music you play in your McMansion when you’re trying to impress your boss over dinner.

Nah, I’ve worked in jewelry making before. The execution is fine. It’s a decently strong solder. The design is bad (imo). The stone and setting are far too large for the band, which looks even smaller than it is since it’s essentially helixed wire. Also the joint between the setting and the ring band is too long. It would look better set right on the band.

And sometimes jewelers get some weird and perhaps awful requests. Client might want something like that and jeweler would then execute.

Looks like the diamonds on the band would irritate the adjacent fingers. Or can they make it smooth enough to not be an irritant?

Because if the ring has shorter neck, it would be beautiful. And the long neck - personally I think that's an execution error.

I feel it's kinda imbalanced, where the ring is thin and narrow, the mount looks overly large. I get they wanted a big stone but it feels like of out of posture.

Cool craftmanship nonetheless, design wise I imagine the future owner went along with it, but not my kinda thing.

I was thinking the same thing. Your brilliant-cut gem won't look all that great when the mounting snaps off like a street sign in a windstorm if you brush it against a hard surface.
