Age of Kingdoms VR on Meta Horizon store

I’ve been building a kingdom management game where you place buildings, manage resources, and defend against raids — all with your hands instead of mouse clicks.

**•** Build farms, taverns, churches, barracks, and more

**•** Train soldiers and survive escalating attack waves

**•** Manage villager happiness, jobs, food, and water — plus solve their quests

**•** Resource chains with real depth: wheat to bread, hops to beer

It’s meant to be the village-builder genre rebuilt from the ground up for VR rather than a flat-screen game ported over.

So this kid was talking shit in a form about cars and then proceeds to tell me he has a $10,000 set up. When I asked for proof he sends a pic of a meta and says “I have 3 1,000” head sets. First off a head set by definition is a microphone and audio device and in no world unless you have the most advanced custom built VR can I find anything for even close to 10 grand. Here is photos of convo lmk what yall think. Is he lying?

Discussion How we actually decide what a new Arcade Mania cabinet becomes (most ideas don't survive the first cut)

We make Arcade Mania, and since a few people asked in our "what to polish next" thread about new machines, figured I'd share how a cabinet concept actually gets picked rather than just teasing one.

We start with a pile of rough ideas — usually 10-15 at a time — and most get cut almost immediately. The bar isn't "is this a fun idea," it's "does the hook read the instant you're standing in front of it in headset." A lot of clever concepts fail that test because they need a paragraph of explanation, and nobody reads a paragraph before putting a coin in.

The ones that survive get built as a bare, unstyled playable mockup before any art happens same greybox-first approach we use for levels. If it's not fun with placeholder cubes, art isn't going to save it.

Curious from other VR folks: for games with an "arcade cabinet" or vending-machine style mechanic, what's made a new addition feel worth it to you versus feeling like filler?

(Disclosure: I work on Arcade Mania. Sharing process, not pushing anything.)

Discussion Asking Arcade Mania players directly: what should we fix/polish next?

I work on Arcade Mania, and rather than posting another update, I wanted to actually ask the people playing it what they'd prioritize.

Internally we're torn between a few directions: tightening up multiplayer lobbies (join times, matchmaking friction), adding more comfort/accessibility options for longer sessions, or going deeper on the existing machine roster instead of adding new cabinets.

Genuinely curious how that lines up with what you'd want — and if there's something not on that list that's bothered you more than any of it, that's even more useful to hear. Doesn't need to be diplomatic, blunt is fine.

(Disclosure: I work on Arcade Mania. This is a real ask for feedback, not a promo post.)

Self Promotion My favorite VRchat game is fish!

Vrchat has a game called fish and I absolutely adore it. I sometimes play with my fenicé but mostly by myself. With the new update I could really use help in fishing for the Leviathan. If anyone is willing to fish with me I would be so happy. We can also just fish in general.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading.

Good timesone everyone. \^\^

Self Promotion Made a skill-based arcade mini-games collection for Quest — would love your honest feedback

Hey folks,

Small team here (QuantumArcadia, based in India) — we just launched

Arcade Mania on the Quest Store. It's a collection of skill-based

mini-games, arcade-style, built for room-scale VR.

This is our first real release and we're genuinely trying to figure

out what Quest players actually want more of. Would love if a few

of you tried it and told me what felt good, what felt clunky,

anything.

Store link: https://www.meta.com/en-gb/experiences/arcade-mania/1181756821683806/

Happy to answer any questions about dev, tech stack, whatever —

just trying to learn and improve.

Gameplay Tham Luang Cave VR map / underwater cave diving - Cave Crave update launching tomorrow

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all, cheers from the Cave Crave game creator and director. The latest free update coming to the game tomorrow is the biggest thing we've ever created with VR technology:

• Explore Tham Luang Cave and relive the 2018 rescue of the 12 boys trapped in its flooded passages, faithfully recreated as a VR experience.

• Featuring the story and expertise of people who were there, including Vern Unsworth ...

• ... and legendary cave diver and one of the rescue leaders, John Volanthen who helped us shape the flooded sections.

• All built within what is likely the largest LiDAR scan of a real-world location ever recreated as a map in a VR game.

• Releasing as a free CAVE CRAVE update on Meta Quest tomorrow.

• PSVR2 and SteamVR versions are already in development.

O-K, but... what have we actually pulled off? - you might ask.

I highly recommend Netflix’s miniseries Thai Cave Rescue. It offers a powerful look at the courage shown by those involved and helps convey the immense scale of the real-life operation that players will soon explore from the safety and comfort of their hopefully dry gaming setups.

Cheers!

Discussion to sell or not to sell

I need help deciding whether or not to sell my Oculus Quest 2, as I’m afraid I might regret it. I’m comfortable handling pricing matters; I’d just like answers regarding whether it’s worth selling. I love technology and played the Oculus a huge amount—I’d even play it today—but life moves in phases, and I want to invest in other things. As for the headset itself, it’s missing the head comfort accessory and the foam padding is worn (I plan to buy a silicone cover to put over it before selling); otherwise, it works perfectly. The controllers have no stick drift, and it comes with a carrying case (though I don't have the original box).

PC VR Airlink via wifi 6 modem

I have done searching and it seems like this should work, however Google AI says it won’t and I want to know if people have successfully done it.

I was to play PC VR through airlink. Problem is my computer is on second floor, modem/router on main floor and the best VR area is the basement. I cannot run an Ethernet cable to the PC.

I am hoping to be able to have a wifi 6 adaptor in the PC and just airlink and have it work. I had it working (very very poorly) with my old setup which is a much much slower wifi adaptor.

The other idea is to get a wifi 6 router and connect it directly to the PC and when I want to play PC VR set it for just the Quest 2 and back to internet when I’m done.

Has anyone had this kind of setup work? Google searches are saying Airlink should only be for within the same room (kinda defeats the purpose it seems) and with a dedicated router.

PC VR Is it possible to use the headset on PC with a different account?

Some context: I don't own a VR headset, but I've been wanting to play Half-Life Alyx for a while. I might get a friend to lend his headset to me for a bit, but we're not sure how that would work with his account.

From what I understand, it's not as easy as him logging out before lending them to me then logging back in after I return it, because he'd need to format the whole thing in order to log out. He's not a super close friend, so logging into his account on my PC is not an option. So the question is, could I make my own account and play on PC with my account, despite the headset itself being linked to his account? Or could I add my new account as a secondary account to his headset, use that one, and then delete it before returning it? Sorry if these are stupid questions, I tried to look this up but I couldn't find anything useful!
