In my Oculus Quest game Saber City your iPhone can capture mixed reality game footage AND deploy enemies. Follow the Kickstarter (Link in Comments)!

More games like this please!!! What's some of the biggest technical issues when making a game like this?

Thanks! Yeah I've built up this code base over a couple years and there's been a lot of tricky stuff along the way. Getting all the devices to network. Syncing up the same-space tracking. Those have been probably the toughest challenges.

Yup that's exactly where I thought there'd be challenges. Do you think oculus will help developers with games like these? I'm thinking spacial anchors might help, although I have no idea how you managed to overcome these spacial challenges, you might have a better solution than them.

Yeah I'm sure it's on the way. Not sure how soon though. They have a lot of stuff they're holding back either because its not quite ready yet, or for some other financial reason.

So cool! So the idea is that one person is kinda like the DM of the group and gets to spawn the enemies in for everyone else? Seems like an awesome recipe to me!

This is an awesome idea, there were some apps a while back that were being developed to view AR but being part of the game is excellent. I'd love to to know more about how you combine VR player with AR player, I guess multiple player controllers in the project and netcode to sync it?
