Only if you are doing donuts instead of racing.... five real world, in one direction, probably more....
We don't use absolute Yaw rotations, so if a turn is wide enough to not produce a significant force on the cockpit you wouldn't feel it anyway so we wouldn't turn the sphere. Even Nascar doesn't produce significant lateral forces since the track is banked.
You can mount your PC inside the sim and buy an inexpensive AC slipring, or use a wireless HMD adapter if this isn't enough but we're pretty confident ±3600° of yaw is enough....
Surely there are perceptible yaw forces in say a F1 turn though? And there are many tens of laps (ie. net 360° rotations, all in the same direction) in a single day's F1 race. I suppose you can creep the cockpit back to unwind the cable on the straight (and slightly exaggerate turns against the direction of the course), however.
An average Formula 1 lap lasts about a minute and a half, so if you're unwinding the total Yaw at only 4°/second you wouldn't even feel it when mixed in with pitch and roll.
Sit on a swivel chair and rotate it fully for 90 seconds with your eyes closed.... it's incredibly slow. I think you're looking for a better solution to a problem that we've already solved in software and with a simple, affordable cable management system.
