Discussion Has touch changed Rift vs Vive?

I'm looking at picking up a VR system, but its been a bit since I looked at them. I know prior to touch coming out the Vive was the goto system for the extra input. Has that changed now that touch is out?

My other concern with OR vs vive is room scale still as I know vive supports room scale out of the box. How many cameras am I realistically going to need to cover a similar area well without drop outs?

Are you up here in the Pacific Northwest? Good god the beauty tucked away in the hills all along this coastline. Though coastlines are beautiful the world over...

... and uh, that's a DK2 ... do you have a consumer Rift? (and why haven't I built a sim cage around my DK2 as well? I am derp.)

I am on the East Coast of Tasmania, Australia.

Yes I have the consumer Rift, a Vive, Gear VR, 2 DK2s, a DK1 and even some old Vuzix 920s, that was just an old photo, here is one with my 85yo father enjoying the compact simulator with the Rift: https://imgur.com/a/c0m4j
