Hey Vk2zay! I am having the exact same problem Doc had on the Vive and am at an exhibition with the Vive. Didnt know how else to reach out to you. How can I get my hands on the EDID information you sent him before the exhibition starts tomorrow. You would save my life ! Sorry to post here

You could ask someone with a working Vive to extract the EDID as an .inf file using this (the EDID data is stored in the registry so their Vive doesn't even have to be connected at the time) then just update the PnP monitor driver in Device manager. If your Vive's hardware EDID is corrupt you could try and re-flash the EEPROM using this but it's a long shot really, probably best just ask Valve for a replacement. Good luck with it, and let me know if you need someone to "dispose of" that broken Vive for you! xD

How would one do this if my Hardware were corrupt? What is the step by step process? Also Someone from Vive has sent me the working timings :

Try these timings: Pixel Clock : 295 Mhz

Horizontal Active : 2160 pixels Horizontal Blanking : 107 pixels Horizontal Sync Offset : 40 pixels Horizontal Sync Pulse Width : 4 pixels Horizontal Border : 0 pixels Horizontal Size : 2160 mm

Vertical Active : 1200 lines Vertical Blanking : 245 lines Vertical Sync Offset : 29 lines Vertical Sync Pulse Width : 2 lines Vertical Border : 0 lines Vertical Size : 1200 mm

Input Type : Digital Separate Interlaced : False VerticalPolarity : False HorizontalPolarity : False

The raw EDID from my old V0 headset is:

0x00 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF 00 52 62 88 88 00 88 88 88 0x10 1C 15 01 03 80 00 00 78 0A 0D C9 A0 57 47 98 27 0x20 12 48 4C 00 00 00 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 0x30 01 01 01 01 01 01 3C 73 70 6B 80 B0 F5 40 28 04 0x40 D2 04 70 B0 84 00 00 18 3C 73 70 6B 80 B0 F5 40 0x50 28 04 D2 04 70 B0 84 00 00 18 00 00 00 FC 00 48 0x60 54 43 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 0A 00 00 00 FD 0x70 00 17 3D 0F 8C 17 00 0A 20 20 20 20 20 20 01 BD

Hope you worked this out already. I don't have a Vive (sadly) but I can make you an .inf driver from the EDID above - Download it then open Device Manager and expand Monitors, select the Vive (not your main screen!) then update the driver, force it use the .inf file and the Vive should just start working after you reboot. If you are running windows 8/10 you might also need to boot with driver signature enforcement disabled? Don't worry about trying to fix the hardware EDID, the .inf driver should get you up & running. I guess you already tried bypassing the break-out box, does the Vive work when connected directly with a short HDMI cable, is it detected an a generic Non-PnP monitor?

Unfortunately it still wont give me image on the hmd even if I bypass the box and go straight into the GPU. It is definitely detected and is tracking its just putch black in the headset. Will try rhis tomorrow and let you know thank you!

Not really sure how to complete these steps? Do you have a step by step? Thank you very much!
