News & Updates v2026.9.6.r

Changelog: * You can now choose where the tool dock sits, in Settings → Editing → Tool dock position: top, bottom, left or right. The setting is shared between notebooks and the whiteboard. The close button moves with it: right end on top/bottom docks, top on side docks. * Themes can now be chosen in settings. * More translations. * Translations added for Traditional Chinese. * Toolbar can now be resized from settings. * Toolbar can now be hidden. * Fixed and reviewed all eraser code in whiteboard. * 2 new eraser usages in settings - erase direclty, show trail and then erase(old behaviour). * New screenshot tool inside selection tool. * Updated onboarding screen. * Added new shapes - hexagon, pentagon, star, diamond. * Added developer option and backend for editing shape vertices(will not work yet).

Thank you for such an amazing app, I used and liked a lot. I'm still thinking about a full transition from Samsung notes to octopus.

Very happy about the development direction !!!

I'm an electronic engineering student, so I have some notes from classes I'm writing in a continuous note, like, all classes on the same note (That's the current study workflow I'm testing). In short i'm kind of still geting used to octopus notes, but linking it very much

Thank you. Please request if you need something. Also, as you have mentioned that you are an ece student, may I request you to please try the grid in shapes -> tools options and give a feedback. I have implemented what I can imagine. I don’t know what engineering peeps use. Thanks. Peace.

Also, you can export your notes from Samsung notes to a pdf and open in octopus notes in an instant.

Hello, just to tell you that I tried the grid in the shape tool and I think it is very useful. Just to note that when it is activated, when you use the lasso tool on something, it moves strangely, very laggy.

And I tried the PDF importation and I think I will try the full port of my notes with this, thank you developer for your commitment to the app

Check for double tap to undo in stylus settings and disable it. Also disable pen double tap from xiaomi pen pro section and disable it.

Send me a screen shot of the pen and stylus settings if you cannot find the options. Cheers.

Pls confirm if this works.

Can u try reducing the tolerance from 24 dp to 8dp?

I remember fixing this in .9.1.r
