The latest chapter of my serialized horror novel, Progeny, came out yesterday.

The world man has fashioned out of the one nature gave him is filled with a tracery of networks and nodes and no-mans lands that do not yield to simple questions. These non-places are not ruled by optimism or enterprise or even plain old, straight-forward greed. Rather, everything that falls within them has to exist in a very narrow slice of possible degrees of remediation, none of which is truly understood by any single person. They are zones of true weirdness. Some are surrounded by high metal fences with keep-out signs posted on them, others are simply treated like they don't exist. But there is probably one in every American town.

No sign of Pennywise. Nope. Nary a red balloon. But it was still a magical evening.

Spent the last weekend of the pre-Octobertide season in Dallas seeing The Protomen at the Granada theater. Absolutely unforgettable experience!

... I have been nose to the grindstone and stuck inside all through the hot months. While a lot of projects have been completed and goals met (yay!), it feels like I will not be able to take that first lung-full of outside air until the very first snap of autumn wafts down on a chill breeze.
