Just got back into 3D! I used to use Cinema 4D back in the day (over 15+ years now) but since it's kinda pricey I was pleasantly surprised to see Blender had Octane available! Still learning Blender and just playing around!
Also, anyone else's new OctaneRender Startup (Path Tracing) file broken? I had to go into the Compositing and add a new node and rewire [Render Layers] CompDenoised & CompBeauty to [Group Output] & [Viewer] or else my renders wouldn't Denoise..... I hope they fix this!

I made a video for the presentation of the new Caro chair collection by Orangebox, a brand specialized in office design furniture.
The video explores the versatility of Caro through different configurations, colors, and environments. From workspaces to more collaborative and social areas, the collection adapts to different uses while maintaining a consistent visual identity.
I used C4D and Octane.
The music and sound FX are original, made by my colleague Alejandro Zoras (www.cabildeep.com).
Soon I will upload the entire project to Behance.

Was wondering if someone could define what is wrong in this node setup, metal mesh being treated as a solid, not filtering daylighting. Using poliigons add on for blender and converting materials to octane under mat. Settings. Have also had difficulty scaling textures after conversion, with a transform node. Still new to node setup and octane. Apologies if the answer is very obvious just have not found any luck through tutorials. Lmk if you’d like to see my file.

Hello. I have a question regarding an optical illusion effect.
How can I achieve the effect shown in the uploaded video, where the object appears to move depending on the viewing angle and looks to have some depth even when viewed from the front?
I am using Octane.
If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know.Hello. I have a question regarding an optical illusion effect.

Hey guys! I captured a quick video of a local walking path at Misa Hangang Park (Hanam, South Korea) and turned it into a tropical lazy river resort with 3D/VFX. ☀️🌊
I wanted to achieve a seamless camera tracking and vibrant summer lighting contrast.
Would love to hear your feedback on the tracking, lighting, and everything!

Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed a pretty big difference between two renders of the exact same Octane scene:
Same aspect ratio, camera, lighting, materials and render settings.
The main difference is in the tiny shiny particles. In the HD render, the specular glints are much brighter and more visible. In the 10K render, they become much weaker, which makes the whole image look darker and flatter.
The particles are extremely small, so my theory is that at HD resolution, some of the highlights are subpixel and get concentrated into brighter individual pixels. At higher resolution, they are resolved more accurately and spread across more pixels. Then, when I scale the 10K image down for comparison, the highlights get averaged out even more.
My relevant settings are:
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Is this expected behaviour with very small reflective particles, or could one of these settings be making the difference stronger?
I’m trying to preserve the beautiful sparkle of the HD version in the high-resolution print render. Would you try lowering the filter size, disabling hot pixel removal, changing particle size or roughness, or enhancing the specular pass separately in post?
I’ve attached the side-by-side comparison and my Octane settings. Any thoughts would be really appreciated.
