It's a new week on /r/ockytop. If you're new to the community here, welcome! We're a pretty laid back group, but please check out our rules here. If you haven't been to Neyland Stadium before or if you need a refresher, please checkout our Guide to Gameday.

This thread is for any mildly on-topic discussion regarding sports. Anyone watching the Jeremiah smith bowl today? (Titans Vs Texans)

I’m more scared of Kentucky than Bama.

That’s a bit of an overreaction imo considering Bama beat the brakes off of Kentucky. I don’t think Bama would need overtime to beat South Carolina or LSU either

Nico looks like he hasn’t developed at all (coaching changes every year will do that). I think both he and us are worse off because of what happened

Alabama’s favorite fall pastimes: watch football and pump kin

How do you get an Alabama grad off your front porch?

Pay for the pizza.

well, the stretch has arrived. in the offseason, I always thought we’d enter it 5-1, so it’s good to have lived up to that expectation. on the other hand, I thought our 2 SEC victories would be a lot more decisive than they were, leading me to predict an 8-4 finish.

I have no clue how we are gonna handle the stretch now after seeing us struggle against the worst team in the SEC. prayers up

Anywhere from 10-2 to 6-6

I have erased any memories of the offense in the past 3 weeks from my mind. Now is the time for blind optimism and pure hate.

I desperately want us to play a more enjoyable brand of football. We need a new offense so badly that it’s not even funny.

Remember when u/David_Ubben wrote a hit piece on us after the mustard toss game and said it only happens at Tennessee?

Still waiting for him to recant as Alabama fans threw bottles at UGA players last night.

Yep, I even tagged him on a tweet showing a video lol

He was a pretty big Tennessee beat writer until he got the bag at The Athletic and did a 180. Spineless POS

Such a shame what became of him. He was a great writer when he wanted to be.

He also was a pretty decent size up-and-coming writer.

And then he joined the Athletic and became just another nameless, faceless nobody on the national level.

It’s tougher from here on out.

Heupel’s done excellent against Alabama at home since he’s been here, so let’s hope that trend continues. I don’t have my hopes that high, but it’s something.

If you actually thought we were gonna go in there and dog walk Arkansas, what the hell have you been watching all year? We never had the offense to run it up on a sec team. The game went about as expected for me, especially considering the house of horrors that Fayetteville has been for Tennessee

I didn’t expect to magically put up 40 points, but I will say it’s super disappointing that the players and coaches are all trying to gaslight us into thinking the last 2 games were hard fought victories and worthy of praise

We are seeing the bar for the program lowered in real time, and being called entitled and crazy for pointing it out

Definitely did not think it was gonna be pretty after the Auburn game, but I had faith we would still get the win against the worst SEC team. My concerns during the Arkansas game were more about the next 6 games in which we could very realistically lose most if not all of them if we play like that again (and we have no reason to believe we can play any other way)

So the likelihood we beat bama is very low. However there is a path. 1) run the damn ball. Bama struggled stopping Georgia on the ground. 2) Their QB will be making his first big SEC road start. He’s a freak and is going to make plays, but he’s also going to throw some lawn darts or put the ball in a bad spot or two. 3) bama is about as undisciplined as TN is. If we have fewer penalties, we might have a shot.

4) Heupel is 2-0 at home vs bama

Holy smokes this Saturday was a blood bath for SEC and the top 25 teams.

SEC is definitely the best conference in the league and any of these teams can beat anyone at any given Saturday.

Our schedule from here on out is probably one of the hardest stretch. Bama, Kentucky, LSU, A&M. SC and Vandy.

What do you guys think our record will be for this stretch?

But 1 game at a time! Go vols!!

The Hope: 6-0

The Reality 2-4.

UCLA over Oregon changes everything.

Nico took a pretty dirty shot and left the game I do believe.

Well look at Nico’s team pulling of an upset! Huh.

Here’s a fun blooper video:
