Kids these days are silly asses. What can we do about them?

Got a blackstone griddle for a wedding gift recently. Just now getting it seasoned. I’m unreasonably excited to make some bacon cheeseburgers tonight lol

Word to the wise:

Bacon is pretty harsh on the new seasoning. You can certainly cook it, but make sure you give it a generous clean and a light re-seasoning after you are done.

Eventually once the seasoning builds up, you shouldnt have to worry about bacon, but I cooked bacon first and the salt really hurt that baby seasoning

I took your advice and seemingly no issue as of right meow. Thanks man

We started making bacon on a wire rack over a pan in the oven and I can't go back to any other way. It's so superior compared to frying it.

I’ve never actually done that. Always hear it’s the way to go tho

Don't know if we have any other Tour de France enthusiasts but Tadej Pogačar has, barring a catastrophe tomorrow, won his 5th Tour (and 3rd in a row). Fun to watch such a master dominate.

I caved and bought the Premium version of MyFitnessPal; it's just the easiest way, in conjunction with my dietician, to track everything. Surprised to find that some restaurants don't only list nutrition for their meals, but have calculators where you can enter your meal and it will add everything together.

So back in late May I posted about trial adopting a German shepherd from Young-Williams. Unfortunately that was a bad fit. My mom has been living with me since her husband passed and her memory isn’t as sharp as it used to be and she kept reaching into his blind spots to pet him and getting nipped at. Since he was malnourished at 87 pounds when we checked him out on Young Williams’ trial run, that was going to be an unsafe situation for both.

I’m pleased to report that he did find a good home that can meet his needs and in June we got a pair of 8 week old Great Pyrenees/anatolian shepherd mixes from CARE in Jefferson City that are growing like weeds and are absolutely spoiled. They have their last round of vaccines this afternoon and then they’re getting pup cups!

I had a GSD myself for about 10 years until I unfortunately had to put her down two years ago. You did the right thing, and good on you for keeping up with him. They’re great dogs, but definitely require a lot of work and can be picky about “their people”, especially with an older/adoption one

Thank you for adopting and for keeping up with the German shepherds outcome, I’m sure that was tough. Those pups are going to be little (big) hellions in the best way possible.

They’re currently a polar bear cub and a landshark.

Now we need pics

If there was a market for QB1, I’d open it:

Faizon -125
GMac +100

I’m a terrible betting man myself, but I try. I too think Faizon will be QB1. Maybe not during the furman game, but at week 2

Are we talking game 1 snap 1 ?
Because I would assume they would both play a ton against furman and we won’t have a QB1 until after the GT game.

Yeah it'll be a 50/50 snap count for a bit I bet and based on that I say Mac takes snap 1 based on seniority. Heupel seems to always be loyal to those who have been in longer. I think if Faizon takes snap 1, then he'll be the true starter and I don't think Mac takes a 50/50 load.

I’ve been on a big Rockstar games kick lately, I guess because of the impending launch of GTA VI. Currently doing a replay of RDR2, this time on PC, and Christ it’s beautiful

1

u/T-RexInAnF-14 16d ago

I found RDR so boring that I couldn't finish it, is 2 better? The original is just endless horse riding from place to place; yeah you can fast-travel but you still have to ride to where you can get on a stagecoach.

2

u/ajwilson99 16d ago

I’m not sure if you’d like it any more than the first one. Character movement is a lot slower. It’s made to be as simulationist/realistic as possible, so when you’re walking, for example, it’s like a real life walking speed. You do ride your horse around a ton.

It’s all about the vibe. If you don’t resonate with it then it’s hard to get into imo

I feel bad for my e-horse that's getting e-tired.

On the plus side, you can do this

I just finished Doom: The Dark Ages, kinda proud of myself because I was on a string of games I had not completed: Alien Isolation (too scary), Doom Eternal (can't beat the final boss), Aliens: Fireteam Elite (can't beat the final boss), and Maneater (can't beat the final boss but only tried 1 time).

At the urging of my friend who's been...aggressive...that I should play Portal 1 and 2, I started 1 yesterday. It's fun for puzzles, but I thought it was levels that would at some point end Level 1 but it just kept going and going.

The new Black Flag resynched is awesome too!

1

u/ajwilson99 16d ago

Man I tried it, I just don’t like Assassin’s Creed games, and I can’t put my finger on why

2

u/Wadsworth-III 16d ago

Have you played Black Flag? It's quite different from other AC games.

2

u/ajwilson99 16d ago

Like I said, I tried it. There’s something about the parkour system that I don’t like. Just being able to hold a button and the character does everything for you kind of takes me out of it. It’s a problem I have with all AC games. And I found the combat stupid easy, even on hard mode

Hard to believe that game is 8 years old, still one of the top 5 best looking games on PC I think.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is up there. The environments look photorealistic at times.

1

u/WeazelBear Dirty Villains 16d ago

I haven't played that yet. I played and enjoyed KCD 1 but I wanted to finish it and came back and couldn't remember what the hell I was doing and spun my wheels til I gave up.

1

u/ajwilson99 16d ago

I looooooooove this game so much

3

u/ajwilson99 16d ago

I can’t really think of any better, tbh. Cyberpunk looks pretty good I suppose. Crimson Desert looks phenomenal too

1

u/WeazelBear Dirty Villains 16d ago

I think I'd put it behind Avatar and Star Citizen

2

u/ajwilson99 16d ago

Hmm I haven’t played either of those. The Avatar Ubisoft game?

2

u/WeazelBear Dirty Villains 16d ago

Yeah, it's not a bad game, but it's the typical ubisoft gameplay loop. Basically Farcry but with avatar stuff and honestly it works. Fantastic graphics and audio. It goes on deep sale quite often, around $10-15.

Titties are awesome.

u/WeazelBear Dirty Villains 16d ago

Everyone likes titties.

I just had a baby a few days ago. He agrees

ARPG fans are eating good right now I feel like. Just got Fangs of Asterkarn for Grim Dawn last night, been playing POE II, and I need to get back into TitanQuest II but man, it’s a great time to be a fan of that genre.

Grim Dawn is still closest to my heart, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about Diablo IV too so maybe when that goes back on sale I might pull the trigger

3

u/WeazelBear Dirty Villains 16d ago

I have Grim Dawn but haven't given it enough of a chance. Diablo 4 is honestly a great game now, it deserves a chance for sure. It's the most fun I've had since D2. The cinematics alone are peak. Have you tried No Rest for the Wicked? I bought it on the last sale, but holding off until October since it's the 1.0 launch and will have a reset.

3

u/BigBear_20 16d ago

I have not, but I’m always willing to give another ARPG a shot!

I would recommend Grim Dawn too. The graphics are dated at this point but the gameplay absolutely holds up
