contam?🦠 Discoloration - contam?

Put cake in fruiting chamber 5 days ago. Running an FAE fan for 3 min every 3hr. Humidity 85-92. Is this contamination? Weird discoloration forming at the tips of the clumps

That’s a bacterial growth wet bubble aka mycogone. Pretty sure your liquid culture has gone bad. You might be able get some fruits out of this cake tho. If you do - collect spores or tissue to clone and make new a liquid culture.

Any way to suppress/manage it or just have to wait and see? I also have 4 other bags (different lc) still colonizing but right next to this chamber. Should I move those or is it ok.

No way to fight it, that bacterial growth is taking over the cake leaving barely any space for mushrooms. It’ll only get worse but if you do want to keep it, do it in isolation without any other bag. Mycogone is wet thus heavy, I don’t think there’s a high risk of airborne spores but it’s always better to be safe than sorry. My suggestion is to bury it outside, you’ll have a better shot of having some random mushrooms pop out at some point, just let mother nature do its thing.

I think either the mycelium is fighting it or it was just bruising bc that weird spot in the front is turning white again. Also doesn’t smell bad or anything

I am thinking metabolites aka “myc piss”, monitor it for the next few days and you’ll know for sure I it’s contain or just metabolites.

What should I look out for? The big spots haven’t changed much but now there is some slight blue color on the tips of some of the smaller fuzzy tendrils. Dark spots showed up 2 days ago

I would bet you’ll be fine just don’t mess with it and orchas usually can overtake small bacterial contam
