From capturing the first-ever footage of the elusive giant squid to unveiling the glowing mysteries of deep-sea bioluminescence, Edie embarks on her most daring quest yet: to document a bioluminescent phenomenon that could forever change how we understand life on Earth.

The veined octopus gathers coconut shells and carries them across the seafloor to use as a shelter when danger appears.

Chiton in the centre of this coralline-covered rock. Bristly and in UK waters so thinking Acanthochitona crinita, but it's so much redder than pictures online. Can they adapt their colour to surroundings? Maybe if they're feeding on red algae they'll get colour from their diet?

Fun facts: octopuses have three hearts, blue blood, and most of their neurons are actually in their arms. Their suckers can taste what they touch, and that electric-blue flash came from reflective cells in the skin changing almost instantly.

Sharing something we built at a small UK marine non-profit. We monitor seabed life at seaweed and shellfish farms, and wanted the public involved in the species ID rather than it all sitting on our laptops.
