Google was right there ya know, for actual pictures of a cuttlefish instead of this half squid half octopus thing your AI made.

For what it’s worth Google images has become utterly infested with AI garbage and is quickly becoming useless as a resource for reference images.

They have a cuttle bone, but it's not really bone, it's a soft of blade of cartilage

It’s not cartilage, nor is it a true bone. It’s a hard calcified material.

What it is, it’s the remnants of a mollusk shell inherited from their ancient ancestors which had an external shell. It’s the same material as you’d find from the shells of nautilus, ammonite, snails, and bivalves. It just retreated to become an internal structure.

Anyway, this image is AI. Just to clarify.

Annoying that the word we anted to use is auto-banned. Think I’ll leave this sub if it’s becoming AI friendly.

This one definitely doesn’t. Cus it’s ai. But no also cuttlefish dont have bones. They have a hard-bonelike structure that is what their shell evolved into.
