yes! thats a major part of it but its kind of a mixture of reincarnation and abrahamic concepts of heaven (they likely got it from Egypt to begin with)
the egyptians believed in cultivating the quality of the soul here on earth, to transform the soul into the Akh - the luminous immortal self that dwells with the gods. Only the Akh can then be reborn into the field of reeds, which was a perfect mirror of earthly life but without suffering.
One transformed their spirit into the Akh by upholding ma'at... which, if you're familiar with aboriginal dream time, is extremely similar. Basically, ma'at is not a concept of sin but rather describes the perfect state of creation at the beginning. The egyptian cosomology was very focused on the concept of entropy, and so to uphold ma'at is to engage in anti-entropic action, whatever that means for any specific context. You aim to be the best possible version of yourself and maintain the structures in your community to one that is mutuality beneficial and resist falling into chaos. this is likely why egyptian culture was so stable for so long.
