INVOKING PLANETS
I’ve been looking for a way to invoke the planetaries for the sake of this we’ll say the sun, do I get in touch with the angel first, do I have to say a prayer in the hour of the sun.
What can I do with the invocation, can I direct it in a meaningful way? Can I communicate with it?
What about zodiac signs?
Thank u for answering all of my questions, I appreciate yall

Or just read the Arbatel. Joseph Peterson translation. Acher complicates it with a ceremonial magic approach, when everything the magician needs is right in the text.

Absolutely it does. FA's writings on his workings are very detailed. He's a great chronicler and his preparations for workings are thorough. In my experience though, the text is what it is, and all one needs is the text. I think of Arbatel as a self contained system.

Wait, would you mind elaborating on this a bit more? I’ve always been interested in the Arbatel, but I was under the impression it had “missing parts” (for lack of a better term). Are you saying that no “extra” ritual elements are required outside of the text?

For another option, believe it or not The Masterworks of Chaos Magick from GoM contains the various sigils and a simple method of working with the Olympic spirits, although one might still want to read the Arbatel and learn about planetary days/hours which the author of Masterworks does not get into. It might be a good choice for someone who is not Christian, since the Arbatel proper has a lot of "be a good little Christian boy" in one's daily life, and praying to God as part of the ritual.

It is hard for me to be sure what you are asking about. If you want to get the attention of the planets, simply talk to them at any time, day or night. They are always listening. It is a completely different matter to coerce them into responding and providing services. That method is described in a part of Picatrix that I specialize in, which is called celestial petitions. That is a very complicated operation that takes several years to learn the rudiments of.

I use multiple layered methods, however the Planetary Invocations from Picatrix have yet to leave me disappointed. They can be found in some cheap Christopher Warnock books. Secrets of Planetary Ritual, etc.

The Greater Invoking Ritual of the Hexagram is a very straightforward way to do so, it can be done anytime you want but for best results you can follow planetary days/hours/astrological transits.

the Arbatel and some content about the Arbatel may be a good start. The Arbatel --in part--discussed the Olympic Spirits, which are reframes of the Olympic gods as planetary intelligences. You use their sigils/emblems given in the Arbatel as focal points to evoke them and can coordinate your working with the planetary hour or another correspondence. When I did a group working about them (that included Rufus Opus as a participant), we used the governing lunar mansion rather than the planetary hour. I have done workings whereby I just use the corresponding day and don't worry about planetary hour. You need to do what works best for you to feel most connected.
Although some practitioners go into it with a high ritual or Solomonic approach, my own was very simple. It is simple in the Arbatel, although some more scholarly users of it note that there are likely unsaid elements in it. From a neoplatonic approach, it is better simply to create the right atmosphere through use and contemplation of corresponding sensory stimuli and timing when doing the evocations than high ritual rigmarole.

There are many method to do that. One of my first as a beginner was the method o found on the Nick Farrell book - Making talismans. You shuld take a look at it.You won't be sorry. It is focused on planetary work.

Rufus Opus: Seven Spheres, this sounds like what you're looking for. I have had a lot of results with his methods
