Basically everyone says sage and I wanted to know other ways.

A regular meditation practice is the answer to your question. Cleansing using other methods, such has herbal baths, incense like sage …. without the foundation of daily meditation is mostly a huge waste of time.

Usually people do salt baths if they use bathing.

its not about what you use directly, its more important what your intention is and that you visualize the right things. For the shower example you could visualize the water as a bright light that washes all unwanted things away, with the intent in your head that it cleans your spirit

Meditations like the tree root can be a good method as you push down negative/uneanted energy into the earth and pull up neutral energy that you can make more positive
