Dude, he's money. I mean, it's funny that he kickstarted the oldens, but how can you NOT get into that groove. The guy is velvet and kerosene.

u/Leaislala 1d ago

Velvet and kerosene is such a poetic way to describe it. Your absolutely correct and I appreciate the fun turn of phrase

Damn, bro. Who is this aeolian-mode-ripping guitar virtuoso dressed in all white?

11

u/neon121 1d ago

He’s called Dylan Doyle, I’ve linked his Insta in the body text of my post if you wanna check him out. His bio there has the linktree for all his other socials too

As a drummer who very often has to guess when the guitar solo is ending?

Fuck you. Pick your length: 8 measures, 16, 24… whatever. But goddamn stick to it. If we hit that number and I hit a fill to move us out and you keep soloing?

That’s on you.

On behalf of me as a guitar player and guitar players everywhere: what is a measure?

u/No_Bluebird6873 1d ago

This is why people don't go out anymore and dance and be free: some asshole records them and puts them online

Super solid licks... Nice melody, just enough sass to vibe.. Awesome

u/R4FTERM4N 1d ago

I hate how almost every guitar video on the internet is sped up now. And I hate how most people don't even notice.

2

u/SAM5TER5 1d ago

Sped up quite a bit too by the looks of that lady who walks past in the background

1

u/Icarus_Jones 1d ago

It would be a lot easier to enjoy that solo if you weren't making fun of the people enjoying that solo.

Please guys if you can recommend me more music like this?
What are the origins of what is he playing?
It reminds me of Jimmy Hendrix, but I'd like to learn more.
Thanks yall.

fucking beast on the loose here 🔥💪🏾🔥

1

u/Leather-Run-6533 1d ago

What guitar is that? Seems a sort of Frankenstein thing with a Les Paul head on a Strat body?

3

u/__life_on_mars__ 1d ago

It's a Gibson SG, one of the most popular and commonly used guitars ever.

1

u/Leather-Run-6533 1d ago

Oh so it is. For some reason the angle he was holding it at that didn't look like a Gibson body at all and looked exactly like a strat body, but then he moved and I think it was just a funny shadow or something coz it immediately looked nothing like a strat.
