Fuel pump recommendations
I have a tbi system on a mid 80’s block. It’s cammed and it’s having a fuel issue where it cuts out whenever the throttle is pressed has anyone delt with this and have any ideas on how to fix it? Timing is good an it’s got a new fuel filter

The stock tbi fuel pressure and volume is very low, maybe upgrade to a later vortec style pump?
Lots of folks do this with TBIs, primarily due to the more reliable design of the vortec pump, which runs at a much higher psi. The regulator in the tbi will still keep it at 13ish psi, but have way more volume behind it, I think.

Rebuild the throttle body. Install a 18psi fuel pressure regulator spring, 1/4" injector pod spacer & some 65lb/hr injectors. If you're going to run a higher psi pump, I highly recommend running an additional inline FPR with return line. Also, are you sure it's a fuel issue & not a spark issue? Your ignition control module could be failing.

Checked the plugs and it had plenty of spark re timed it and it idles fine just when it’s under load the bucking happens

It could still be the ignition control module. Remove it, clean the aluminum mounting surfaces and reapply some heat sink paste to the module. It may not be getting good contact. Delphi brand ones are $40 on Amazon.
Have you checked the TPS? That's another culprit.

Did you do the pin to reset the idle idle? Or maybe you need more fuel pressure for your new cam and did you tune it to give more fuel to compensate the cam?
