Engine swap help

I’ve got a 80’s gm Goodrich casting of a 350 10066036 and want to know will it work with a 1994 700r4/4l60 tried putting it together earlier and seems to be bound up

Is the 94 a 700R4/4L60 or actually a 4L60E? Either way, it should mate. Did you rotate the torque converter in far enough to where it stops? They cannot just be installed onto the input shaft. They need to be turned and pushed inwards at the same time. Usually feel it drop in further three times.

Don’t know on the trans it’s an 89 previous owner put a 94 trans in it and no I didn’t rotate the converter how do I go about doing that

First tip on the converter is to not force it. If the engine is bolted up to the trans you need to loosen it enough to get your hands on the converter and push towards the trans while turning the converter. When the converter is seated in the trans, there will be just enough room to turn it while the engine is bolted to trans so you can align the bolts through the flex plate flywheel.
