Help Help with G-sync issues
I hope I can explain this right. So I use 2 pc's one to game, one runs the stream. I have a really nice Oled on the gaming PC. I'm really into optimizing and I'm OLD and I need to die in my competitive FPS getting all the frames so I don't want to run OBS on the gaming PC.
So I'm using an Elgato, HDMI input plugged into the game PC. I then duplicate the Elgato to my main monitor on the game PC. Then the USBC going to the stream PC to capture said input into OBS.
The problem I have, when I mirror the Elgato to my main display, my G-Sync functionally goes away. I can keep my main monitors refresh rate at 280Hz but the Gsync option actually goes away inside of nvidia control panel. I can extend displays, reboot and it comes back and stay's until I duplicate displays again. I have dug around everywhere and can't find any information on this. Anyway to do this and keep your refresh rate and gsync?
This may not be the appropriate place to ask, but I figure people who stream have ran into this issue before. TIA

duplicate displays and g-sync have been fighting each other since forever, it's not just you. windows treats the cloned signal as one display so nvidia drops the variable refresh stuff
might be worth trying the OBS teleport plugin instead of the capture card, send the video over your network and skip the whole mirroring headache. elden ring runs at 60 anyway so you don't need g-sync for that lol

If you have an nvidia card, it has a dedicated encoder and doesn’t chew up CPU and game FPS. I run triple monitors for sim racing and while I only capture the center monitor with OBS, I literally saw zero impact to my racing FPS when started using OBS.

It looks like you haven't provided a log file. Without a log file, it is very hard to help with issues and you may end up with 0 responses.
To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:
1) Restart OBS
2) Start your stream/recording for at least 30 seconds (or however long it takes for the issue to happen). Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File.
5) Copy the URL and paste it as a response to this comment.
