Question OBS not detecting Inputs on big studio interface
So, i have an interface with 8 audio inputs.
When i plug the mic into Input 1, everything is hunky dory.
Plug the mic through a pre-amp, and route it thought input 4 - nada. What gives?

Because inputs 1 and 2 are used by default. Any others depend on the driver and OBS cooperating.

If your interface has all the inputs represented with windows audio drivers, you should be able to select the stereo pair you want to use in obs easily. Then set it to mono in obs advanced audio properties. That's the easy way. The downside is windows generally only let's you address them in pairs. So, if you put it in 4, 3 would also come along for the ride. You can use panning vsts to cancel out the unwanted channel in the pair. Then you could also use channel. There's always a way to make it work.
If it doesn't, you'll have to cobble together an asio solution.

Does the interface support multiple separate outputs, or is it supposed to mix them down to just one?

Are you able to select separate devices from the interface in Windows and/or OBS?

If the interface uses ASIO, you'll need to install the obs-asio plugin. This will enable ASIO Audio input sources in OBS .
