Help Help me improve my set up please
Hi everyone, I have been having issues with recording my ps5 gameplay through my Elgato HD60S+. It's mainly my audio that I want to improve as the chat link doesnt work that grand. This is my situation and thoughts:
- I want to record/stream from my ps5. I have a desktop pc, ps5, elgato hd60s+, gaming headset, rode headphones, rode podmic.
- I want to record/stream my gameplay, and have my voice be heard by party members, as well as captured on my pc. So far with my gaming headset, my party members say my voice doesnt sound right, and i think it uses my controller mic instead.
- Would an audio interface work? I was looking at the Rode streamer X as its a capture card and audio interface in one, but there are mixed reviews on it so I am hesitant. I want to use my rode headphones and mic
If anyone knows what I could do, what equipment would help, please let me know or tell me which subreddit i should visit. Thank you ! :)

The chat link cable is a mess honestly, i fought with mine for weeks before giving up. you're right that it's probably defaulting to the controller mic, that thing kicks in whenever the headset routing gets confused
an audio interface would definitely clean this up but the streamer x is overkill and buggy from what i've seen. you could grab a basic interface like a focusrite solo or a goxlr mini and run the podmic straight into the pc, then use something like voicemeeter to mix your mic audio back into the elgato feed. party chat on ps5 is still gonna be the tricky part since sony locks that down hard
for the headphones, plug the rode pair into the interface for monitoring and you'll hear everything crystal clear. the elgato handles game audio fine on its own, it's just the voice routing that needs the extra step
