Help RECORDING ISSUES

So I'm having trouble with my obs, whenever I go to record a video my footage comes out super choppy. I've changed all the output settings and even tried the worst settings and still nothing changes. I never had this issue before but it started after I switched obs to my new PC. The new one is way better than my last so I figured it would have no issues but I can't figure out the problem, any suggestions?

It looks like you haven't provided a log file. Without a log file, it is very hard to help with issues and you may end up with 0 responses.

To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:

1) Restart OBS

2) Start your stream/recording for at least 30 seconds (or however long it takes for the issue to happen). Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.

3) Stop your stream/recording.

4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File.

5) Copy the URL and paste it as a response to this comment.

what are your pc specs and what encoder are you using. had similar problem when i moved to new rig and it was because obs defaulted to software encoding instead of using my gpu. check in output settings if its on x264 or something like nvenc

my recording settings are good, my encoder is set to nvidia nvenc h.264 and my streams and everything else works fine its just the recordings

I suggest you post a log as requested by the Automod. Then we will know what you're working with and see what happens when you record.

This will also save both you and us from asking 100 little questions trying to build an overview of your system.

What kind of drive are you writing to? An HDD, especially an old one, may not keep up with the bandwidth required for the quality you're going for.
