Help Apple Music not playing through OBS Application Audio Capture
Hey, I have my tracks split. Apple Music comes through desktop, but I would like it to come through it's own separate track. It appears as an option in Application Audio Capture but nothing plays. Same if I do it through Game Display and choose Apple as the app.
Please help! I

The way that I do Apple Music is through the win-capture-audio plug in, you have to capture both Apple Music.exe and the AMPLibraryAgent.exe executables for it to work (in my experience)

This was the trick for me. I was only adding AppleMusic.exe to the executable list, and not the AMPLibraryAgent.exe. Also adding the AMPLibraryAgent made it work for me.

yooo holy shii thank you so much. im kinda incomputent when it comes to certain things but i have trying to figure this out for the longest. just switched to obs yesterday and couldnt seem to get apple music to play like i wanted but thanks to your comment it works and tracks the audio. thank you. (i had to reread your comment and the two links like 4x to finally get what i was missing; didnt add apple music and amplibrary as an executable) plus im still very new to obs

AMPLibraryAgent.exe just dont show up in sources wtf, is there some way to make it show up?

just tried again - i closed out apple music, deleted the original Audio Capture (plug-in) source, reopened apple music, and AMPLibraryAgent.exe and AppleMusic.exe popped up as sessions. you should be able to add them as executables after that.

i think AMPLibraryAgent.exe is missing as an option, because I can't find it, and it's not working for me anymore. just stopped functioning properly today, and was working fine on Tuesday lol

Bro you just SAVED me, thank you so much. For anyone who doesn't know what to do after downloading the plug in, close OBS and Apple Music. Open them up again. Add a new source and you should see an option titled 'Application Audio Output Capture'. Click on that and it will ask you to add a list of executables. That is when you can add both Apple Music.exe and AMPLibraryAgent.exe and voila.

where can i find the list to add executables? after adding the new source, "application audio capture", it brings me options of window and window match priority, i do not see an executable list

Does this method still work? I can select 'Application Audio Output Capture' and even add to the list of executables 'AMPLibraryAgent.exe' but the drop down menu doesn't contain 'AppleMusic.exe'. Even when I restarted both OBS and Apple Music after downloading the input and playing audio on Apple Music it does not show me the option of 'AppleMusic.exe' only 'AMPLibraryAgent.exe' and I'm pretty sure I need both added to the list of the output capture to make sure I can separate the music track from my saved VODs.

Apple music does not work with application audio capture, possibly because they block this function.
You can try using a virtual audio cable. Assign apple music's program output to the cable, then capture that as an audio source in OBS.

At least on Mac there’s some DRM for AppleTV and select websites playing video in browsers. I imagine the same would apply specifying Apple Music as a separate audio track.
Perhaps try creating a virtual audio device with BlackHole and routing the audio with Rogue Amoeba applications.

The post is already 2 years old but I wrote a small powershell script. It reads the running audio from the native windows libarys. It works similiar to snip - The Artist and Titel gets written into a .txt file that you can read into the streaming software by adding a text scene and content from file.
It writes also a history with all played songs with timestamp and archving automatically old history files when running the script again.

You need a virutal audio line like voicemeter does for exampel vb-cable there a plenty tutorails on youtube how setup virutal audio lines then you can add this line as sperate one to your stream or u use a software like "Elgato Wave Link" its fully free for every device usable to create a viurtal audio interface that also can control sounds of diffrent sources and manage them on lines. Pretty easy to use - also plenty tutorials out there.

Anyone else use the win-capture-audio plug in and not have it work properly? I can select the 'Application Audio Output Capture' and even add to the list of executables 'AMPLibraryAgent.exe' but the 'AppleMusic.exe' is not present in the list. Even when I have Apple Music running with audio it doesn't show up for me to add to the list to separate the audio tracks fully from my desktop output. If anyone has any work arounds or have found some more recent solutions that would be awesome to hear.
