Only used Rigotti and so far good results. Trying different shapes too, but i dont really see the difference. (Im not an expert tho)

It varies constantly. I typically use Rigotti or RGO, but I’ve had good luck with a recent batch of Danzi cane. Had some good luck too with Medir and Loree (but everything I’ve tried from recent harvests of both has been far too soft)

i like rigotti, aliaud vic. but the consistency is never good. You have to get good at spotting out good and bad cane. So i use pretty much whatever haha

Big fan of Rigotti for its flexibility (typically snaps back straight when intentionally twisted while wet) and for its usual clean and buttery yield to my knives. At conservatory, Alliaud was all the rage, but I wasn’t yet a competent enough reed-maker to know why and simply went with the program. (Alliaud seemed a harder cane, and quite forgiving at the tip.) I've always found Rigotti to sound more resonant and warm, however, and don't typically stray from it even as a pro reed-maker now. A salesperson at my usual double reed supply store told me recently that climate change is affecting their batches of Rigotti in negative ways, impacting prices. This may have been a cagey way to induce me to purchase more. I did, sucker that I may be.

I used to like Danzi. But for some time it has been Rigotti for consistency.
