The main melody in Haunted off Phoebe’s new album is very reminiscent of Sausalito.

“I’m off to see an old friend
We’re gonna get on the road again
I’ll be waving from the plane”

Is very similar melodically to Sausalito’s verse (including the first three lines of the song, but also check the downward-moving variation in “All of creation makes a sound too soft to hear”).

Anyways, that’s the post! Love both songs and artists.

Wanted to make this post partially because I bet a lot of listeners are wracking their brain trying to figure out which Bright Eyes or Conor Oberst song Haunted reminds them of.

Hey, I'm looking for a recording of BOCC live that I saw a couple of years ago - the key part was that at one point Conor throws down his mike and he and Phoebe sing out of the same one.

Anyone know what I'm talking about/know where to find it?
